The upcoming election for New Jersey Governor has failed to spark the interest of many citizens, despite it marking the end of Republican Governor Chris Christie’s reign, and it being one of the only two statewide elections to be held this year.

Last week, Quinnipiac University released a poll showing that Democrat candidate Philip D. Murphy is 25 percentage points ahead of his Republican opponent Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno.

It appears that the same low turnouts that occurred at the polls for the governor primary elections in June, will occur at the general election. Only about 13 percent of New Jersey’s 5.8 million registered voters showed up to vote in June.

Kim Guadagno and prominent Jewish leaders from across New Jersey today slammed Phil Murphy and Sheila Oliver for their ticket’s anti-Israel record.

The North Jersey Jewish Business Alliance (NJJBA), formerly known as the Hudson County Jewish Business Alliance, hosted its third annual legislative and business luncheon at the Robert Treat Hotel in Newark, New Jersey.

Due to its incredible and exponential success, the luncheon also marked the Alliance's name change. By providing a comprehensive network for Jewish business owners to expand their reach, the Alliance, too, expanded with tenacity, and now includes the greater North Jersey area

In Newark, NJ the 12 members of the jury have been selected to decide the fate of Democratic Senator Robert (Bob) Menendez in his corruption trial. Last Wednesday, attorneys selected a children’s librarian, a mail carrier and a utility worker among the racially mixed jury. The members of the jury, as well as four alternates, are half male and half female. The pool originally numbered seven hundred potential candidates when the questionnaires were mailed out two months ago.
