On Wednesday, the day the New York Jewish Voice hits the newsstands, President Trump will sort of welcome into the White House, a confirmed terrorist from the make-believe land of "Palestine." That would be Mahmoud Abbas also known as Abu Mazen. We refer to him as an unabashed Jew/Israel hater, Holocaust denier and a murderer. Abbas has been the president of the Palestinian Authority (PA) since 1995 when he took over from his mentor, Yasser Arafat. Different names, faces but the same brutal, dictatorial rulers.

We don't know the outcome from this meeting but we're hoping that President Trump will cold shoulder any proposal by Abbas for this country to change its new pro-Israel stance.  Abbas will surely try to flim-flam our president to continue the disastrous Obama policies of recognition and support both moral and financial for the Palestinian dream of becoming a nation. He will surely bombastically demand that our nation force Israel to halt its settlement growth, repeat the nonsense dream of the right of return, call for final borders based on the 1967 lines and petition for the release of high level Palestinian prisoners currently serving sentences for murder and terrorism in Israel.

Rather, we get the feeling (and pray) that Trump will talk to him straight out and read the riot act to this man whose 1982 PhD dissertation was published as, "The Other Side: the Secret Relationship Between Nazism and Zionism." According to the lies of Abbas, the Zionist movement encouraged and worked with the Nazis to persecute Jews in order to spur more Jewish immigration to Palestine. A quote from his paper: "The Zionists were the Third Reich's partner in crime." He also asserted that the claims of six million dead were exaggerated for political gain. His figures, "around one million." Far be it then, for us to remind President Trump that in a recent speech he gave marking Holocaust Remembrance Day, he denounced Holocaust deniers as, "an accomplice to this horrible evil" and Holocaust denial as one form of "dangerous anti-Semitism that continues all around the world." Why then, this meeting with a Holocaust denier??

There is another issue at stake here that Trump has to consider. And that's the murder of American citizens by Palestinian terrorists over the years and the financial support our nation's citizens give to these terrorists. Let's take a look at the outrage (finally) in Congress for the stabbing death last year of American, Taylor Force, a 28 year old  U.S. combat veteran who served his country in Iraq and Afghanistan who was visiting Israel as a Vanderbilt University student.

As a result of this continuing terror against Americans in Israel Republican lawmakers introduced a bill, House Resolution 1164, called the Taylor Force Act, which would eliminate U.S. funding for the PA if it continues to provide stipends to terrorists and their families. To quote Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), "If a Palestinian is convicted in an Israeli court of being a terrorist, the longer they're in jail, the more their family receives from the PA." He noted that over $300 million U.S. taxpayer dollars flow to the PA each year and these funds are used to support and encourage the killings in Israel even of Americans. A family of 25 year old jailed terrorist receives a stipend of at least $3,000 per month as reward for his/her terrorism and imprisonment. Our funding of the PA encourages their terror activities.

Let President Trump take this opportunity to stomp down on Abbas and his terrorist Palestinian Authority by telling him that this nation stands in total support of the state of Israel and that we will no longer be in cahoots with Islamic terror specifically as orchestrated by Abbas' supporters and followers. However, we are truly concerned that our president has lowered himself to even permit this terrorist to enter the White House and to sit side by side with the leader of the free world. We are as troubled as you are as to the outcomes of this meeting. Let's hope and pray that our president makes his visitor squirm and that Trump is as tough as nails during this meeting.
