When Jared Kushner, son-in-law of President Trump, was the CEO of Kushner Companies before his resignation this past January, he developed a townhouse in Brooklyn that has recently sold for $12.9 million. The swanky property is located at 27 Monroe Place in Brooklyn Heights.

According to city property records, the townhouse is the second highest priced residential property to be sold in the borough this year.

Matt Damon’s wife, Luciana Barroso, was interested in the Brooklyn Heights home at one point, but never ended up going through with purchasing the property that had an original asking price of $16 million. Brooklyn Law School sold the townhouse to Kushner Companies in 2014 for $7.41 million.

According to The Post, “Built in 1844, the five-story home is 25 feet wide and 7,000 square feet. It comes with five bedrooms, six bathrooms and three powder rooms — along with an elevator, radiant-heated floors and a chef’s kitchen with a dumbwaiter to the parlor floor butler’s pantry. The listing brokers were Leslie Marshall and James Cornell of The Corcoran Group.”

The most expensive home to sell in Brooklyn this year, also set the record for the priciest to ever be sold it the borough. The sale took place this March in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Dumbo.  The property was a Clock Tower triplex penthouse located at 1 Main Street. The Colombian art dealer Lio Malca finally purchased the luxury unit for $15 million.
