Brooklyn Hospital Center is working on a deal to lease a beautiful new downtown Brooklyn health care facility, spanning 67,750-square-foot, from the New York Hotel and Motel Trades Council, according to The Post’s sources.

Francis Cauffman designed the new 11-story building, which contains 180,000-square-feet and is located at 620 Fulton Street. Earlier this month, it was a focus of political rivals Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo as they both partook in the opening ceremonies for the facility.

The union’s plan was to lease the retail space, and the top six floors, from the sixth floor to the penthouse on the 12th floor, to help pay for its own space. Although a deal has not been signed yet, the parties are negotiating for Brooklyn Hospital to possibly lease those six floors.

Ingram & Hebron Realty is working on the hospitals behalf and the union is represented by Circle Realty Group. Comments could not be obtained from the companies nor the union.

I a recent interview with the New York Times, Union President Peter Ward said, “We’re occupying 65,000 square feet in a building that is in the hottest neighborhood in Brooklyn for no out-of-pocket expense. … We’re going to be living there for free.”
