Media Matters is trying to take down Hannity again. Backed by Soros, the liberal activist group is repeating its shameless stunts. The nonprofit politically progressive media watchdog, founded in 2004, is known for its aggressive criticism of conservative journalists and media. The powerful left-wing group previously led the initiative to unseat former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly. Now they have set their target as Sean Hannity. The reason is clear. They believe him to be pro-Trump.

The organization is hardly being shy about their intentions. They have set the front page of their website to read, “Stop Sean Hannity. It’s time for Hannity to go.  Take Action.” Clicking on the link directs the reader to a full page slandering Hannity. The sidebar includes a sign up to join the effort. The text reads, “If a company is sponsoring Sean Hannity’s show, it is essentially supporting a Trump propaganda operation. It needs to stop.” It continues, “Sean Hannity has a long record of right-wing chicanery, lies, and vitriol. But he has morphed into something more dangerous than just a partisan hack -- he’s been exposed as a full-blown propagandist who conspires with the Trump administration to spread fabricated stories, smear detractors, and undercut the rule of law.” 

Media Matters is also riling up its supporters via email and social media. “Today, Media Matters is launching an effort to encourage Hannity’s sponsors to stop financially supporting his propaganda,” reads Media Matters’ email sent to supporters on Friday night, as reported by TruthFeed. “At this point, if a company is sponsoring Sean Hannity’s show, it’s essentially supporting a Trump propaganda operation.” The email includes a link to a petition directed towards Hannity’s advertisers. The plea to join the effort includes harassing advertisers to stop running ads during Hannity’s show, as a form of protest. The group is essentially instigating a boycott.
