Unlike Jennifer Aniston who’s nose keeps getting smaller and perkier, and who’s face seems flawlessly held together by Botox and whatever else, Gwyneth Paltrow has aged….. she’s aged okay.
But for some reason, People Magazine thinks she’s aged more than okay as they have named her the world’s most beautiful person of 2013.
The 40 year old blonde-haired, blue-eyed half Jew (on her father’s side) is gracing the cover of the magazine’s 2013 World’s Most Beautiful People issue, which hit newsstands on Friday.
People’s managing editor Larry Hacket said in an interview that the magazine chose Paltrow because “she’s relatable as a wife and mother “who balances her personal life and her career.” He also mentioned that she’s family-oriented, looks great and is grounded.
But the latter two were up for debate by Twitterers (they really need to come up with a better word for that, or have they?).
Let’s start with grounded. Paltrow’s website, GOOP, is an example of how very grounded she is indeed.
“Around the house, I’m in jeans and a T-shirt. I don’t really wear makeup. That’s what they’re used to,” she told People of her home attire.
Jeans are $200 on GOOP. A white tunic that mildly resembles a carpet is up for a bargain $168. Oh, and if she’s wearing the GOOP earrings also but simply forgot to mention so, then they set her back a mere $537 dollars. She clearly has a very relatable approach to stay-at-home-mom apparel.
As for the “looks great” part mentioned by Hacket, the first thing that comes up on Google when you search “Gwyneth Paltrow looks” is “old”. So there’s that. (Karma is seriously going to punch me in my 40’s for this).
Paltrow attributed sleep and exercise are the best tips for looking her best, which is a shocking revelation that has yet to be explored scientifically and by Glamour magazine.
Also, she has a smoothie with “lots of protein and good fats” for breakfast, and snacks on nuts or an avocado throughout the day. Then she’ll have a light salad for lunch, and said she’ll eat “whatever” her heart desires for dinner.
“It’s why I exercise for two hours every day,” she told People Magazine. She also admitted to eating the dreaded enemy of most of Hollywood and half of New York: Carbs!
“Because I want to enjoy my life and I love pasta. Like last night I came home and had a fresh baguette and cheese. And a martini. I don’t believe in depriving yourself.”
In the past, Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez were named World’s Most Beautiful by People.
